The Albanese Government has activated more financial support for people directly impacted by the recent severe storms in South East Queensland.
From 2pm AEST on Monday 8 January, applications for the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP) and Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) will open.

The Australian and Queensland Governments have announced further assistance for Queenslanders impacted by the SEQ storms on Christmas night.
Disaster Assistance and Essential Working Capital Loans are now available for affected small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profits in City of Gold Coast, Scenic Rim Regional Council and Logan City Council to assist with the repair and recovery of essential equipment, and for loss of income.

The Australian and Queensland Governments have activated further disaster assistance to support more councils affected by Tropical Cyclone Jasper and the associated rainfall and flooding events.
Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council can now access funding for counter disaster operations, while Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council can access funding for the reconstruction of essential public assets such as roads, bridges and floodways.
The Federal Government will deploy a squadron of up to 70 defence force veterans and retired emergency service workers across South-East Queensland to assist with the damage cleanup from the recent storms.
At the request of the Queensland Government, the Federal Government has activated Disaster Relief Australia (DRA), a not-for-profit organisation that unites the skills and experience of military veterans with first responders and civilian volunteers to aid disaster recovery operations around the country.

Personal hardship payments are now available for more eligible residents in the Logan City Council and Scenic Rim Regional Council areas in response to the severe storms in South-East Queensland on Christmas night.
This includes grants of $180 for individuals and up to $900 for a family of five or more to cover the costs of essentials like food, clothing and medicine.

The Federal Government has delivered more than $15 million in disaster assistance payments directly to people significantly impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper in Far North Queensland.
This includes more than 13,600 claims for the Australian Government Disaster Payment (AGDRP) and the Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA).
AGDRP is a payment of $1,000 for eligible adults and $400 for eligible children who have been significantly impacted by the floods.
