In July 2021, the Australian Government announced the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) Grants Program.
The program was part of the $2.2 billion National Bushfire Recovery Fund.
Grants were provided to areas that were disaster declared by states and territories under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
The objectives of the BSBR program were to:
· Support community recovery and resilience
· Build stronger communities through social, economic and built environment recovery.
In February 2022, the Government announced 524 community projects would be funded. With funding for these projects totalling just over $390 million.
All projects must finish by 31 March 2025.
