We lead the National Coordination Mechanism (NCM). It unites all levels of Australian government, industry and non-government organisations for crisis management.

We’ve developed and put into operation the Crisis Appreciation and Strategic Planning (CASP) process to respond to the growing threat of complex and potentially catastrophic crises in Australia.

We run the Australian Government Disaster Response Plan. It shows how states and territories can get government help when disasters occur.

National Situation Room
The National Situation Room (NSR) is a 24/7 facility run by us. It provides whole-of-government all-hazards monitoring and reporting. Stakeholders use information provided for decision support before, during and after crises.
