Were you impacted by the June 2022 storms and floods?
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is supporting families and communities across Australia on their disaster recovery journey.
A range of disaster assistance is now available following severe storms and flooding from 27 June 2022, which impacted large areas of Sydney and the New South Wales coast.
The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment provides one-off financial assistance to eligible people affected by the floods in Queensland and New South Wales. The rate of the payment is $1000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child.
The eligible Local Government Areas for Australian Government payments may be different to assistance provided by the New South Wales Government.
You can find out if your Local Government Area is eligible and check other application requirements on the Services Australia website.
You can also contact the Australian Government Information Hotline on 180 22 66.
The allowance provides up to 13 weeks of income support payments to employees, primary producers and sole traders who can demonstrate they have experienced a loss of income as a direct result of the floods.
Our Recovery Support Officers are located across the regions affected by the June/July 2022 floods.
They have been in close contact with local emergency management structures and are supporting recovery centres and at assistance points.
Recovery assistance under the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements was made available to Local Government Areas impacted by the severe storms and flooding from 27 June 2022.
This assistance is administered by the NSW Government. You can visit the Service NSW website to find out more and apply for assistance or contact a Customer Care specialist by phone on 13 77 88.
