Disaster recovery support is available

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) supports families and communities across Australia with disaster recovery support, following events such as floods, bushfires, cyclones, drought, and other hardships like the COVID-19 pandemic.

We work in partnership with state and local governments so that communities are better prepared for, and supported during, disasters and emergencies.

Access support

NEMA Coordination and Planning Officers are located across Australia, working in partnership with states and territories to support disaster-affected communities to collectively build resilience, reduce risk and harm, and effectively respond to and recover from disasters. You can visit our Coordination and Planning Officers page to learn more and find support in your state or territory.

If you have been impacted by a disaster you can visit Disaster Assist to access information about Local Government Areas which have been declared natural disasters.
