Funding to repair Queensland’s disaster-impacted heritage-listed places

Disaster assistance is now available to help restore the heritage-listed buildings and places that were damaged by the extraordinary rainfall and flooding events of the 2021–2022 severe weather season.

The $500,000 Heritage Disaster Recovery Grant program is jointly funded by the Albanese and Palaszczuk governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DFRA) and will be administered by the Queensland Department of Environment and Science (DES).

Additional disaster support for flood impacted communities in South Australia

Residents and businesses in nine South Australian local government areas are now able to apply for a range of assistance to help them clean up, get back to business and back into homes.

The Albanese and Malinauskas Governments today announced $126.25 million in further disaster assistance for communities hit by the devastating flooding that peaked in Renmark on Boxing Day and is subsequently impacting downriver areas.

Up to $15 million in targeted funding is being made available to support councils, businesses, community groups and an animal hospital in areas significantly affected by the severe weather event in Tasmania on 13 and 14 October 2022.

Commonwealth-State Disaster Assistance extended to Wingecarribee

A total of 76 local government areas (LGAs) are now subject to a natural disaster declaration as a result of the ongoing flooding across New South Wales.  

The latest LGA to be declared a disaster zone is Wingecarribee in the Southern Highlands.

People in the Tasmanian local government area (LGA) of Glamorgan Spring Bay can now apply for the Albanese Government’s Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) following October’s severe weather and flooding.

The Glamorgan Spring Bay Council will also be supported by joint Commonwealth-State assistance under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements to help repair the road network impacted by a landslide.
