What is a resource?

A resource provides information on measures that can improve the resilience of households during a disaster or adverse weather event.

This Technical Report documents the study undertaken by QFES, Geoscience Australia, UQ, CTS and the six coastal local governments in SEQ in January 2020

The study promoted understanding of wind risks in SEQ. It also developed actionable information for the future.

The work has improved our understanding of three main risks:

  • wind hazard
  • residential exposure
  • vulnerability.

Residential buildings contribute the most wind risk in SEQ. The effectiveness of retrofit strategies was undertaken.

The outcomes of the study are a valuable resource for partners and stakeholders. It has information on planning, preparation, response, recovery, insurance and risk reduction.
