Severe Wind Hazard Assessment for South East Queensland
This Technical Report documents the study undertaken by QFES, Geoscience Australia, UQ, CTS and the six coastal local governments in SEQ in January 2020
The study promoted understanding of wind risks in SEQ. It also developed actionable information for the future.
The work has improved our understanding of three main risks:
- wind hazard
- residential exposure
- vulnerability.
Residential buildings contribute the most wind risk in SEQ. The effectiveness of retrofit strategies was undertaken.
