The North Queensland Strata Title Inspection Program (NQSTIP) was a voluntary inspection and assessment program of strata properties in North Queensland that operated between 2019 and 2023. The Program will be reintroduced in 2024.

The program aimed to increase the resilience of strata properties in Queensland to the effects of future tropical cyclones. It provides Bodies Corporate with the estimated existing resilience of their properties. Rating is between 1 and 5 for:

  • the grounds
  • and the building's resilience to wind
  • rainwater ingress
  • storm tide
  • the resilience of wall and roof mounted items.

Strategies to improve that resilience, if needed, were also provided in the reports.

Inspections were offered free of cost for strata properties:

  • within 100 km of the coast
  • north of the southernmost boundary of the Rockhampton Regional council area
  • extending to the Queensland/Northern Territory border
  • including islands off the Queensland coast.

The website provides information on:

  • previous damage to strata properties during cyclones
  • definitions of resilience
  • the strategies to improve resilience.
