What is a resource?
A resource provides information on measures that can improve the resilience of households during a disaster or adverse weather event.
FORTIS House
FORTIS House was developed in response to community requests for help to build better.
The Resilient Building Council created FORTIS House. It was in response to the 2019-20 Black Summer bushfires and later flooding. It was to help recovering communities rebuild.
The project provides house designs. It also provides a set of building principles for:
- extreme weather and disaster resilience
- sustainability
- self-sufficiency and quality.
The designs are suitable to resist the effects of bushfire, flood and tropical cyclone.
