In December 2023, the Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) Taskforce - National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) engaged with the telecommunications industry. As part of this engagement, an overview of the National PSMB Program including the plan for industry engagement and the pathway to delivering a national PSMB capability was provided. The PSMB Taskforce is now inviting industry organisations to register for individual bilateral meetings prior to the anticipated market approach. The market approach is expected to be a two-phased process, involving a Request for Information (RFI) in the first instance. The RFI process is anticipated to commence in Q2 2024.

The bilateral engagement meetings are an opportunity for industry organisations to:

• share information on their current and potential service and technical offerings, and
• convey what information they anticipate may be of assistance in supporting the development of their future RFI submissions.

This engagement is intended to support an efficient and effective RFI process from both industry’s perspective, and NEMA’s perspective. It will also underpin the second stage of the market approach and delivery of an enduring national PSMB capability.
