Compounding and significant disasters in recent years have highlighted the need to look at how Australia is supporting disaster management.

We have released the findings of the Independent Review of Commonwealth Disaster Funding Arrangements (The Colvin Review).

As part of the next phase of consultation, we are seeking public feedback.

The Colvin Review

This review was commissioned in context of the increasing size, scale, intensity, cost and complexity of climate change-fuelled disasters.

The review recommends that Australia’s disaster management frameworks and arrangements evolve to match the changing nature of disasters.

We want to hear from you

The Australian Government is committed to hearing from a wide range of stakeholders including states, territories, local governments, individuals and organisations. This consultation will help inform how the Government responds to the recommendations in the review.

If you would like to have your say and contribute to the conversation, please visit our website.

Public feedback submissions will close on 20 December 2024.
