Reviewing the funding
The Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements made recommendations. These included making sure:
- all Australians affected by disaster receive equal support
- governments can respond quickly to disaster
- communities can bounce back from disaster.
The Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Review follows these recommendations.
The government wants the DRFA to:
- work well
- help the right people
- be available when severe disasters happen.
The Review will look at how to:
- strengthen communities after a disaster
- put money into ways to lower risks
- make infrastructure stronger.
