Independent Review of National Natural Disaster Governance Arrangements
The Independent Review of National Natural Disaster Governance Arrangements (the Governance Review) has been commissioned to better prepare governments for the demands of increasing disasters.
The Governance Review will examine how national natural disaster governance arrangements could more effectively serve disaster preparedness, response, recovery, resilience and long-term policy requirements.
The Governance Review is being conducted in response to the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements Recommendations and was endorsed by the members of the National Emergency Management Ministers’ Meeting (NEMMM).
The Governance Review will ensure national governance arrangements are fit-for-purpose for the current and future state of natural disasters in Australia.
